Peace Clubs blog: MAIN PAGE

Silence is Violence is a New Orleans organization dedicated to making the Crescent City a safe one through teaching alternative expression and advocating positive community participation.

It's currently expanding on an outreach program it launched in 2007 called Peace Clubs.

The clubs are classes lead by respected local artists and take place at various schools throughout the city. During each session, the selected artists teach their trades, talents and passion to students as a new means of communication.

Welcome to the Silence is Violence Peace Clubs blog; a journey into this program through words and images by those who are involved

This is the main page. It highlights and links to information about participating artists and what's happening at each of the schools: Booker T. Washington, G.W. Carver, Hope Academy, Sophie B. Wright and Walter L. Cohen.

This page also brings attention to local and global events that are important to New Orleans, its youth, and the mission of Silence is Violence.

Please make sure to take a look at the links, posts below, and individual school pages.
